The Centre – Season 1, Episode 1

From: OneMoreLesbian

THE CENTRE is a scripted drama web series, designed to tell stories about how African Women cope with life between cultures in Berlin, Germany.

Leoni (Naomi Beukes), a Namibian born social worker who had a hard time with German Burocracy herself, decided to open up THE CENTRE, to offer women a refuge when in doubt.

With the help of her best friend, Jessi (Birgit Stauber), a doctor whom she met years ago in a refugee camp in Lesotho, she helps where she can, barely able to pay the rent every month, but dreaming of the day when she can make THE CENTRE legal.

The first story of the series, "I'm still down here" tells the story of the young Sanaa (Lucia Luciano), who finds herself torn between her very religious family, and her love for the german, punk girl Janis (Julia Stenke).

Taking the advice of her girlfriend, she visits Leoni to help her make the right decision but things do not always work out the way we want them to.

This episode was done with no budget at all.

Thank you to everybody who’s been watching us. We are overwhelmed by so many clicks in such a short time. As a no budget production, this means a lot to us. Here’s hoping on some funding very soon to bring you more episodes, in which we answer your questions, fill the holes in the script, tell you the backstories of our main characters and to bring you some interesting development between our characters.
    THANK YOU!!
