Sarah is the daughter of a preacher in a small town, who in her first year of college in the big city studying journalism, her teacher tells them to find a story to write about and with which they will be graded at the end of the semester.

Sarah meets and writes about Kand, a young bisexual dancer and other exotic dancers in the LGBT community who are struggling to find their way into life as they face their own childhood demons.

Sarah, who fights against religion and acceptance, is intrigued and develops an intimate relationship with Kand. Sarah falls in love and begins to question her faith.
