Singer and songwriter Becks is sad and heartbroken. After her breakup with her girlfriend, she discovers that she has been replaced by someone younger and sexy.

Only with her car, a bag of clothes and her guitar, Becks goes to her hometown in the Midwest and goes to live with her devout Catholic mother, and ex-nun. What could go wrong? The answer of course is a hell of a lot of can. But at least she has music, just what will make her have a new and unexpected connection with Elyse, a restless housewife.
